# Testing and resends

> Test endpoint delivery, inspect history, and recover failed webhook attempts.

Trigger an `endpoint.test` event from Settings after configuring or rotating an endpoint. It uses the same signing and delivery-history path as every other event.

## Acknowledgement

Return any `2xx` response within ten seconds. Sakawave records a bounded response body and status in delivery history and does not follow redirects.

## Current resend behavior

An authorized dashboard user can manually resend a delivery whether its previous attempt failed or succeeded. A resend reuses the same event ID and immutable payload. The attempt timestamp, signature, and attempt number change.

There is no automatic retry and no background delivery queue in the current implementation. Delivery history is retained for 30 days. Disabling, replacing, or deleting an endpoint cancels its pending deliveries; re-enabling affects future events only.

## Test plan

Before go-live, verify that your receiver:

1. accepts a valid test event and returns `2xx` within ten seconds;
2. rejects a signature computed over a modified body;
3. rejects a timestamp older than five minutes;
4. returns `2xx` without repeating business work for a duplicate event ID;
5. safely processes a resent older lifecycle event after a newer one;
6. recovers a missed event through transaction or transfer reconciliation;
7. keeps webhook secrets and full payloads out of routine logs.

<Note>
  Event filtering is not currently available. An active endpoint receives every supported event for its business. Route on the `event` field and ignore what you do not handle.
